 Meet Angeles, our move-in coordinator at Melody Living independent living in Lake in the Hills! Angeles grew up in both Springfield, IL, and Aurora, IL. Her favorite thing to do around Lake in the Hills is to find new trails to walk with her dog, Alia. She also loves spending time with her family trying our new restaurants around town. In addition to trying new foods at local restaurants, Angeles also enjoys cooking and has become rather skilled in making Mexican dishes.  Outside of work, Angeles enjoys going to church and spending time with her family and friends. She also makes rosaries and enjoys reading and baking. Before joining the Melody Living family, Angeles worked in the Senate doing policy work and journalism for about 10 years while also assisting with her family's small business. As the move-in coordinator, Angeles is every potential resident and their family's first step to a Life in Harmony™ at Melody Living independent senior living! She provides informative and interactive tours to ensure our community is an excellent fit for every prospective resident. Once a resident is ready to move in, Angeles helps to get them settled in.  Angeles loves all of her residents, she says she has a lot of patience which is often what is needed when making the big decision to move. She’s grateful to be able to be a part of such a monumental and exciting life change for so many. She says she feels she can impact the community by listening to active and prospective residents and being a resource for each of them. As the first person most residents get the chance to meet within Melody Living, she can answer any potential questions and help lead them in the right direction. Angeles’ work doesn't stop after a new resident moves in though, she continues to check in with each resident to ensure their move has gone well, see if any issues can be resolved, and continue to get to know each resident to improve their life at Melody Living better.  Angeles stated that her grandmother inspired her to pursue a career in senior living. She and her grandma were separated due to the Immigration system about 11 years ago, and towards the end of her life, her grandmother suffered from dementia and depression.
Angeles lived with her grandmother and her mother in Mexico for a while about two years ago to spend some time with her grandmother. Unfortunately, her grandma passed away in March of this year. When Angeles decided to move on from politics, she knew the opening at Melody Living wasn’t a coincidence.
