Father’s Day is coming up, which means we’re all looking to find that perfect gift to give Dad or Grandpa. It can be difficult to find a great gift sometimes, especially when it seems like your loved one has everything they could ever want. To help you out this Father’s Day, the Melody Living Community has rounded up a list of five meaningful and practical gift ideas sure to make even the man with everything feel special this year! 1. A Handwritten Card
You can’t go wrong with writing about how special your dad or grandpa is to you. A handwritten message in a Father’s Day card (the one you were probably already planning to pick up from the store) will add that special touch and give him something to look back at. Cards can also be enjoyed on their fridge or near their bedside as a special reminder of how much you care for them each day. If you're the crafty type, you can also take it a step further by designing the whole card from scratch or opt for a digital card or recording of you and your loved ones wishing Pops a very Happy Father’s Day. 2. A Gift Card Many people brush off gift cards as lazy or impersonal, but if you can put a bit of intention behind it, a gift card can be just as meaningful as the most well thought out gift. If you decide to get him a gift card to his favorite restaurant, maybe make a reservation for when you know he’s free as well. Make a mental note of his favorite stores, or if there’s something you know Dad’s been wanting to buy, get him a gift card to help make him make the purchase. These small extras show that you’ve been paying close attention to what he’s been talking about or is interested in – which is always a thoughtful gesture. 3. A Digital Photo Frame Photos are a keepsake that many of us accumulate over the years, and it can get to a point where we simply are no longer able to display all the wonderful photos of family, friends, and memories throughout our home. This can be especially true if your loved one is living in a senior living care community. Digital photo frames solve that issue by putting all your pictures into one simple place. Not only does it save space, but it allows for hundreds of pictures to be displayed through a slideshow. 4. Reading Tablet Help Dad read more books this year without overcrowding his bookshelf! Gift him with more than a million ready to read books, with a reading tablet. Reading tablets are another great gift for saving space, especially if your father figure is an avid reader! Plus, many come with adjustable fonts and lighting options, which can be much easier on the eyes. Pick out a few books you think he might like and load them onto the tablet before gifting it, so Dad can get right to reading. 5. DNA Testing Kit If you know Dad or Grandpa has always been curious about his ancestry (and maybe, you are too) pick up an ancestry DNA testing kit. There are so many to choose from nowadays, so make sure you do your research to find the right one. Once the results are in, get together with the whole family to look over them! You might be quite surprised at what you find out about your family lineage. All of us here at Melody Living Lake in the Hills can’t wait to celebrate Father’s Day with you and your loved ones.
