From honoring cherished family recipes to giving back to the local community and celebrating the holidays in style, we’ve lined up a series of gatherings that truly reflect the warmth, connection, and joy of the season. November 26 at 1:15 – National Cake Day In honor of National Cake Day, we’re hosting a Cake Social Hour! This fun-filled afternoon will celebrate our residents’ love for baking and nostalgia for family recipes. Residents will have the chance to bake their favorite cakes or share treasured family recipes with others, bringing the community together over sweet memories and delicious treats. Our talented culinary team will also prepare a variety of cakes, ensuring everyone enjoys a slice (or two) of this timeless dessert. So, whether you’re a chocolate lover, a fan of classic vanilla, or prefer something with a fruity twist, National Cake Day at Melody Living is sure to satisfy all tastes and spark plenty of smiles and stories! December 5 at 2:30 – International Volunteer Day Giving back to our community is a core value here at Melody Living, and on December 5, we’ll honor International Volunteer Day by supporting PADS of Elgin, Inc., a local organization dedicated to helping those in need. Our residents will participate in preparing lunches to be delivered to the shelter, spreading kindness and support to our neighbors in need. Afterward, we’ll host a Volunteer Appreciation Social, celebrating the contributions of our residents, volunteers, and valued vendors who make our community thrive. Light refreshments will be served, and we’ll take this time to reflect on the power of community involvement and the wonderful impact each volunteer has made this year. December 21 – Melody Living Christmas Party Join us on December 21 for our annual Melody Living Christmas Party! We’re turning our community into a holiday wonderland filled with music, festive treats, and seasonal joy. Here’s a breakdown of the day’s special events: 11:00 AM - First Showing of the Musical “Funny Bunny” Kick off the holiday fun with a live performance of Funny Bunny, a heartwarming musical perfect for the season performed by our very own residents. This is a delightful way to start the festivities and get into the holiday spirit with friends and family. 12:00 PM - Special Holiday Lunch Our culinary team has created a special holiday menu that promises to be both comforting and festive. Residents and guests can gather in the dining area for a delicious holiday-inspired lunch, sharing in the warmth of the season. 3:00 PM Second Showing of the Musical “Funny Bunny” For those who missed the morning performance or simply want to enjoy it again, we’ll have an encore showing in the afternoon. 5:00 PM - Festive Dinner Service Gather around with friends, family, and neighbors for a special holiday dinner created by our talented culinary team. Expect a seasonal menu filled with traditional favorites and creative holiday flavors, all beautifully prepared to celebrate the season. 6:00 PM - Dessert Bar, Violin Concert & Santa’s Visit After dinner, indulge in a lavish dessert bar featuring decadent sweets perfect for the holidays. Our bistro will also host a violin concert to fill the evening with beautiful holiday music, followed by a very special visit from Santa Claus himself! This magical experience is designed to bring families together and create lasting holiday memories. For non-residents, tickets are available at $25 for lunch and $35 for dinner.
