As the leaves began to change and the air turned crisp, Melody Living Lake in the Hills was bustling with activities that brought our community closer together. This September and October, residents enjoyed a variety of social, educational, and festive events that fostered connection, learning, and seasonal fun. Here’s a look back at some of the memorable gatherings and moments our residents shared. CHAT Program with Lake in the Hills Police Chief We kicked off the season with a special session of the CHAT Program, where residents had the opportunity to meet with the Lake in the Hills Police Chief. The program provided a comfortable setting for open conversation, allowing residents to ask questions, discuss concerns, and learn more about community safety initiatives. It was a meaningful dialogue that not only strengthened our connection to the local community but also emphasized the importance of safety and security for everyone. Smile Day Open Mic In celebration of Smile Day, our residents came together at our Open Mic event to share stories, songs, and laughter. From heartfelt poetry to musical performances and a few lighthearted jokes, residents showcased their talents and shared personal memories that brought plenty of smiles and fostered connection. The event reminded us of the joy that comes from sharing talents and personal stories, warming everyone’s hearts! Monthly Support Group Each month, Melody Living hosts a support group designed to provide a safe space for residents and families to share experiences, gain encouragement, and find strength together. The September and October sessions were particularly powerful, offering participants meaningful support and guidance from both staff and fellow residents. This monthly gathering has become a pillar of emotional support, giving everyone a sense of community and solidarity through life’s challenges. Sign Language Class Residents were excited to try something new with our Sign Language Class, learning the basics and adding a valuable skill to their communication toolkit. The class provided an introduction to everyday signs, enabling residents to connect with others on a deeper level and fostering inclusivity within our community. The positive feedback was overwhelming, with many residents expressing interest in future language learning opportunities. Marvel’ous Melody Spooktacular Halloween Our fall season wouldn’t be complete without a festive Halloween celebration! The Marvel’ous Melody Spooktacular was a highlight of October. Residents, families, and staff got into the Halloween spirit by wearing creative costumes, decorating pumpkins, and enjoying themed treats. The dining room was decked out with spooky decor, creating a fun and lively atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Residents enjoyed delicious libations, candy, balloon art, magic, and coloring activities! The laughter and excitement truly filled the air and made for a memorable celebration. As we look ahead to the rest of fall and the upcoming winter holiday season, we are excited to continue hosting events that celebrate community, learning, and togetherness. Thank you to all the residents, families, and team members who participated in these recent events—you’re what makes Melody Living such a warm, engaging, and supportive community!
