Creating a safe and secure environment is one of Melody Living's top priorities and we understand how important this is for families and the loved ones of our residents. In addition to providing high quality care from our trained and certified staff, we believe that a Life in Harmony means going beyond what is expected to provide peace of mind and this is apparent in our safety monitoring tools and technology.
To ensure the wellness of our residents 24/7 we offer state-of-the-art technological features such as our private family visitation room, that has allowed for safe visits together throughout the past year and electronic key locks that log all visits to a community member's home. This allows our team insight to see if a resident hasn’t left their apartment or hasn’t returned, giving us the opportunity to check-in with them to make sure everything is okay. While our team already performs these check-ins throughout the day, this added level of safety and security ensures we always have a grasp on each resident’s well-being.
Every month, our activities director works directly with our assisted living and memory care residents to plan out the month’s events and happenings at Melody Living Lake in the Hills. This gives our community members a voice and opportunity to drive the community life how they see fit!
We love sharing all the fun activities and occasions we are celebrating and while our events calendars have changed throughout the past year to keep our residents and staff safe, we never miss an opportunity to create a Life in Harmony for all.
Our philosophy of a resident-driven culture encourages personal choice and decisions by offering a variety of lifestyle comforts, amenities and support, inspiring community members to lead a Life in Harmony in a vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere. Those who call Melody Living home, truly drive our Life Enrichment calendar. Our priority is to ensure that we offer programs and explorative experiences based on the desires and wishes of the members residing in our community ensuring they maintain the hobbies they love, and are able to explore new opportunities, defining the community in which they live.
We loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this week with plenty of fun activities for our assisted living and memory care residents. The week has started off with an interactive Leprechaun race, a virtual tour to Ireland, clothing themes like Wear the Irish Flag colors, Wear Something Lucky and of course, Wear Something Green!
We have also incorporated a bit of Irish fun for our senior residents by setting up an Irish Soda Bread baking tutorial, St. Patrick’s Day BINGO, crafts, an Irish Dance Performance and to top it all off, a St. Patrick’s Day Party to celebrate all that we have to feel lucky for.
Each month, we love getting together with our senior living community members to ensure that they can enjoy new and fun opportunities and experiences to create a Life in Harmony. One of the best parts about our community events calendar is that we work directly with the residents to determine what events they would be most interested in and then we make those happen!
The transition of moving into a senior living community, whether it be assisted living, memory support or independent living, doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice the things that make you happy. It also, most certainly does mean that your life even has to change. In fact, most of our residents have shared that their quality of life has vastly improved since moving into our retirement community in Lake in the Hills.
One of the key assets of living in a senior living community like Melody Living, is that every day is packed with opportunities for our residents to enjoy. Whether it’s a fun social activity or a relaxing experience, we ensure that the Eight Dimensions of Wellness are a top priority. This truly does allow us to create a life in harmony for residents of all lifestyles and abilities. Focusing on intellectual, emotional, environmental, social, spiritual, occupational, financial and physical wellness allows us to provide a wholesome experience and way of life for residents in our community.
