Jillian is our Memory Care Director at Melody Living Lake in the Hills. She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and has lived in Rockford for the past eight years. She loves being able to work at Melody Living.
Jillian enjoys spending time with her son, watching movies, and cooking dinner together. Jillian has two pets, a dog and a cat, Odie and Garfield. She loves Mexican food and says that, “Tacos make her happy!”
Dina is our Sales Associate here at Melody Living Lake in the Hills. Dina is originally from Omaha, Nebraska where she was born before she moved to Palatine, Illinois when she was 14 years old. She has lived in Lake in the Hills and Crystal Lake for the last 27 years.
Dina’s favorite thing to do in Lake in the Hills is going to the outdoor concerts that are held at Sunset Park during the summer. She says, “It's nice to hear the music and catch up with her friends and family. It reminds you that it’s nice to live in a smaller town where you run into people you know.”
Dina has been in this position for six months and has learned so much, and she says she still has much more to learn. Working in sales allows her to interact and get to know Melody Living Lake in the Hills residents and their families before they move in.
She enjoys meeting them all and hearing their stories. Her own parents lived in assisted living, and she was there for every step of their journey. Leaning on her personal experience helps her to be able to ease the minds of the families and easily relate to what they are going through while transitioning loved ones to the community.
Melody Living Lake in the Hills assisted living and memory care is proud to be called home by our veteran residents. To honor them this Veterans Day, we sat down with some of our residents to hear their stories and to thank them for their service.
November is National Family Caregivers Month, highlighting family caregivers and honoring them while educating communities about what it means to be a family caregiver.
Family caregivers are relatives, friends, or even neighbors that provide a broad range of care and assistance to a loved one as needed in their daily lives. Family caregivers need just as much support as the loved one they care for. Being a family caregiver is a job that earns no salary and receives no days off, as it is an around the clock job.
Being a family caregiver can take an emotional, physical, and financial toll on a person. Providing support to a caregiver in your life can ease the stress and let them know their hard work is recognized and appreciated. We’ve gathered a few ways to show your appreciation and support to a caregiver in your life.
Getting to know every single one of our residents at our senior living Lake in the Hills community is one of the best perks of becoming a part of our family.
We want you to get to know them as well. This October, we are featuring our assisted living community resident, Marj Groover and a bit about her exciting life.
Marj was born in Atlanta, Georgia where she lived for only a few months before moving to Park Ridge, IL. A fun fact about Marj’s childhood is that she actually went to Maine East High School with Hillary Clinton. Marj has two sons, three grandsons, and one granddaughter. She says her greatest accomplishment is raising her sons and seeing the wonderful families they created.
